The Fineliner / Classic Solution 40 feet is a unique Van der Stadt design with a length of 12 meters, width of 3 meters and a draft of only 0.65 m. The vessel was built in 1998 on behalf of Jim Lensveld and constructed in wood core (red cedar), inside and outside set in epoxy, with carbon reinforced ribs. The streamlined hull is designed for speed and efficiency.
In 2022 Padmos in Brouwershaven installed a new 6-cylinder Steyr diesel (± 120 hours). With that she reaches about 28 knots top speed. At neutral, the engine turns only 635 rpm, good for a consumption of 1.1 l/h at ± 5 km/h. The 500-liter fuel tank offers ample cruising range.
The interior offers a double bed forward and a double bed in the aft cabin, a vacuum toilet with new pump (2025), a 10 L Isotherm boiler and dual controls (cockpit & saloon). A bow thruster provides effortless maneuvering.
In 2024, the interior trim was renewed, the woodwork received new Awlgrip paint, the anti-fouling renewed, and new drive shaft bearings were installed. Witsen at Alkmaar installed a Victron inverter and battery pack for 220 V on board, also replacing the gas oven with an induction cooktop.
This very well maintained and complete Fineliner 40 combines classic beauty, modern technology and impressive performance - ready for many years of sailing pleasure.
